‘Dreaming Whilst Black’ finds second home at BBC

Jamaican filmmaker Adjani Salmon’s award-winning web series ‘Dreaming Whilst Black’ gets its made-for-TV debut on BBC Three’s iPlayer channel on Monday, April 19.

Dreaming Whilst Black is a 9-part comedy mini-series that follows a young, passionate, yet naive filmmaker, Kwabena (Adjani Salmon), who struggles to navigate between his dreams and reality.

The web series was created by Salmon, Max Evans, Laura Seixas, and Natasha Jatania debuting on the 4Quarter Films YouTube channel in 2018.

A quick glance at the episodes’ comments gives a clear picture of how loudly the story resonated with young audiences.

Salmon said, “After such a phenomenal response to the web series, where we found an audience who really connected to Kwabena's journey, I’m happy we’ve made our show for TV. I’m excited to share this story with our earliest and new audiences alike.”

A one-episode pilot will be released on the BBC Three strand of BBC iPlayer.
