‘Pure Service’ is a testament to the actual audacity of some customers

Barbadian filmmaker Reyda Gay’s short film is a humorous glimpse of the internal dialogue that is the catalyst for battles between retail service people and their customers.

A man (Neil Waithe) enters a shop to return an item he says doesn’t work. He’s on a level 10 from the moment we meet him. The cashier (Charlene Hayes) is bewildered that her first customer of the day is a difficult one. Watch the ping pong of wits between them in Pure Service:

Pure Service is an adaptation of the Barbados National Independence Festival of Creative Arts medaling piece of the same title. It was written by Adrian Green and features the original cast. The film was shot and edited Reyda Gay with assistance from Kenny J Parris.”
